Reference Values for Immature Granulocytes in Healthy Blood Donors Generated on the Sysmex XE-2100 Automated Hematology Analyer

چکیده
An increase in immature granulocytes (IG) in peripheral blood is of great importance for the diagnosis of hematological malignancies. Furthermore, it may indicate systemic inflammation. IGs are usually quantified by visual microscopy; however, recent studies have evaluated automated IG count on the DIFF channel and IG detection on the IMI channel of the Sysmex XE-2100 automated hematology analyser. The aim of the present study was to generate reference values for these parameters. Men and women showed comparable reference intervals for the IG counts; the 5th percentile was zero and the 95th percentile was 0.03×10/ L for both men and women. For the IG count in percent (%IG) the 5th percentile was zero and the 95th percentile was 0.5% for men and 0.4% for women. The count of myelocytes in the IMI channel in the study population resulted in a 5th percentile of zero and a 95th percentile of 0.03×10/ L for both men and women. The clinical value of these automated measurements has to be elucidated in further clinical studies.

Evaluation of the Diagnostic Performance of theSysmex XT-2000i Automated Hematology Analyzerin the Detection of Immature Granulocyte
Immature Granulocytes (IG) are normally not present in peripheral blood. Their presence is an important indicator of enhanced bone marrow activation. The present study evaluated the diagnostic performance of the Sysmex XT-2000i automated hematology analyzer in the detection of myelocytes and/or metamyelocytes in patients affected by non-haematological disease, in comparison with manual microsco...
متن کاملPerformance evaluation of the immature granulocyte parameter on the Sysmex XE-2100 automated hematology analyzer.
Recently, St. Anthony's Medical Center Laboratory (SAMC) in St. Louis, Missouri, installed a new automated hematology analyzer, the Sysmex XE-2100. The XE-2100 has an additional differential parameter, the immature granulocyte (IG) parameter. Prior to implementation, the IG parameter was evaluated by comparison to the manual immature granulocyte count. Immature granulocytes counted manually, as...
متن کاملComparison of automated differential blood cell counts from Abbott Sapphire, Siemens Advia 120, Beckman Coulter DxH 800, and Sysmex XE-2100 in normal and pathologic samples.
Reliable automated blood cell characterization and quantification remain challenging in pathologic samples, whereas slide reviews due to unnecessary flagging should be avoided. We compared 4 modern hematology analyzers-Abbott Sapphire, Siemens Advia 120, Sysmex XE-2100, and Beckman Coulter DxH 800-regarding complete blood cell count (CBC), leukocyte differential count, and flagging efficacy in ...
متن کاملImmature granulocyte measurement using the Sysmex XE-2100. Relationship to infection and sepsis.
We determined the usefulness of immature granulocyte measurement as a predictor of infection or positive blood culture and compared the results with total WBC count and absolute neutrophil count (ANC). Blood samples from 102 infected and 69 noninfected patients were analyzed using the Sysmex XE-2100 automated blood cell counter (Sysmex, Kobe, Japan). The percentage of immature granulocytes was ...
متن کاملPreliminary Data on the Feasibility of Bone Marrow Screening on the Sysmex XE-2100 Automated Hematology Analyzer
In the present study we investigated the potential of the Sysmex XE-2100 automated hematology analyzer as a screening device for bone marrow (BM) aspirates. We evaluated BM cellularity, white blood cell (WBC) differential count, immature granulocyte (IG) count, nucleated red blood cell (NRBC) count, granulocyte/erythroid (G/E) and myeloid/erythroid (M/E) ratio, and potential pathologyrelated sc...
